Aptech Africa Makes Solar Power a Gateway to Women’s Empowerment in South Sudan

Aptech Africa successfully completed the solarization of three women-focused community centers in Yei, Kajokeji, and Morobo, located in Central Equatoria State, South Sudan.

Each of the three sites was equipped with a stand-alone rooftop solar system featuring a 5.55 kWp capacity, a 5KW inverter, and 10 kWh battery storage. These systems provide consistent, fuel-free power for printers, phones, and internet connectivity, enabling women to participate in community activities, education, and economic initiatives.

Aptech Africa successfully delivered fully operational systems on schedule while ensuring safety and sustainability. Beyond installation, the team trained beneficiaries on operating and maintaining the systems, equipping women with practical skills to maximize the benefits of clean energy.

Over 300 women across the three sites now benefit from reliable, clean energy, enhancing access to essential services and supporting women’s empowerment.

By bringing solar power to these remote areas, Aptech Africa is not only lighting community centers but also empowering women, strengthening community engagement, and fostering sustainable development in South Sudan.
