
Aptech Africa successfully completed the assessment, design, supply, installation, commissioning and testing of two complete hybrid solar backup systems at Health Centers in Yoloten, Mary velayat, Turkmenistan.
Reliable electricity is fundamental to effective healthcare delivery. From powering medical equipment and lighting consultation rooms to supporting refrigeration, communications, information systems and essential services, a stable power supply can directly influence the quality, safety and continuity of healthcare available to communities.
The project involved the installation of ground-mounted hybrid solar power systems, with a total of 31.98 kWp solar PV array and a 61.44 kWh battery energy storage system with Deye Hybird Inverter 15KW, Battery (5.12kWh Pylontech UF5000) and Jinko Solar panels.
Beyond the technology itself, the project represents an investment in the resilience of local healthcare services and the communities that depend on them. Together, the two systems are expected to support health services benefiting more than 300 people within the surrounding communities. Technology delivers its greatest value when the people responsible for using and managing it understand how it works. As part of the project, Aptech Africa provided training to the health-center end users.

The importance of this project extends beyond the technical specifications. The combination of solar generation, battery storage and the existing power infrastructure provides the health centres with greater energy resilience. This can help reduce the operational disruption associated with power interruptions. By generating electricity from sunlight, the health centres can reduce their reliance on conventional electricity sources and increase the contribution of renewable energy to their operations. Solar power produces electricity without the direct combustion of fossil fuels during operation. Increased utilisation of renewable energy therefore supports broader environmental sustainability objectives.
The project demonstrates how investment in energy infrastructure can become an investment in community wellbeing.
The Yoloten project demonstrates Aptech Africa’s ability to deliver end-to-end renewable energy solutions. From the initial assessment to engineering design, equipment supplies, installation, commissioning, testing and end-user training, the project was delivered as an integrated solution.
