Aptech Africa Powers Hospitals with Solar Energy in the Central African Republic

Aptech Africa is proud to announce the successful installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at hospitals in the Central African Republic (CAR), marking a significant step toward improving healthcare delivery through sustainable energy solutions.

In a country where many health facilities face frequent power outages or lack electricity altogether, these installations are a game-changer. Reliable electricity is critical for powering essential medical equipment, lighting operating rooms, preserving vaccines, and supporting emergency services and solar energy is now helping to meet more effectively.

Aptech Africa designed, procured, installed and commissioned 3 hybrid systems of 38-kilowatt peak in Bégoua and Bédé combatant with 30 kWh of storage and 20-kilowatt peak at the Boye Rabe health center with 30 kWh of storage using Lithium-ion batteries. In the absence of the sun, the generator will power the loads and charge the batteries. The Victron Cerbox box, equipped with router, DATA Manager, communication cable will be used for remote monitoring of the system.

Each system was tailored to the specific energy needs of the facility, incorporating high-efficiency solar modules, reliable battery storage, and smart inverters for long-term durability and performance. Local technicians were also trained as part of the project to ensure continued system maintenance and sustainability.

This initiative aligns with Aptech Africa’s mission to advance sustainable development across the continent by delivering clean energy solutions that uplift critical sectors such as health, education, and water access.

Aptech Africa extends its gratitude to all partners involved in this impactful project and reaffirms its commitment to expanding solar energy access throughout the Central African Republic and beyond.
