Aptech Africa recently designed, supplied, and installed a 50 KWp system with 51 KWh of lithium ion battery storage for Njala University in Sierra Leone.
This system was a stand-alone ground mounted system and used a hybrid inverter from Sinexcel. The battery storage technology was from AlphaEss. The system has a remote monitoring system that provides information about the systems performance.
Njala University is a public university located in Njala and Bo Sierra Leone. It’s the second largest university in Sierra Leone, and was founded in 1964 with the help of USAID. The system was installed at the Secretariat’s Office due to the high diesel fuel costs. This system allows for the entire administrative block to provide services for the students, thereby benefitting the entire University.
