Powering Sustainable Living in West Freetown

As the demand for reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy continues to grow across Sierra Leone, Aptech Africa remains committed to delivering innovative solar energy solutions that transform lives and improve energy security. Aptech Africa successfully supplied and installed a 13.2 kWp Solar PV System, integrated with a 12kW Deye Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter and 31.8 kWh Lithium Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for a private residence in West Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The solar panels are strategically mounted on the residence’s roof to maximize solar energy harvest throughout the year. The hybrid inverter manages power from the solar array, batteries, and the utility grid, ensuring seamless energy supply under varying operating conditions. The addition of a lithium battery storage system allows excess solar energy generated during the day to be stored and utilized during the evening, at night, or during grid outages, significantly enhancing the home’s energy independence and reliability.
Access to reliable electricity is essential for maintaining comfort, productivity, and security within the home. The newly installed hybrid solar system provides continuous power for a wide range of residential applications, including: Lighting systems, refrigeration and food preservation, air conditioning and ventilation, water pumping systems, communication devices and internet connectivity, entertainment systems, kitchen appliances, and home office equipment and electronics
Electricity costs and grid reliability remain significant concerns for many households. This installation addresses these challenges by maximizing the use of solar energy and reducing dependence on conventional electricity sources. Beyond the economic advantages, the project contributes significantly to environmental sustainability by reducing the household’s carbon footprint and dependence on fossil-fuel-based electricity generation. The clean energy produced by the solar PV system offsets greenhouse gas emissions and supports Sierra Leone’s broader efforts toward sustainable development and climate resilience.
As Sierra Leone continues its journey toward a cleaner and more resilient energy future, projects like this highlight the important role that residential solar energy systems play in creating sustainable, energy secure communities. Aptech Africa remains proud to be at the forefront of this transformation, bringing reliable renewable energy solutions to homes and businesses across the region.
