Public Service Announcement

Aptech Africa’s team conducted a public service announcement on the 6th and 7th May 2021 in an effort to give back to the community by providing education on ways to conserve the environment as part of its corporate social responsibility program.

Aptech’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program helps our company be socially accountable to itself, its stakeholders, and the public. Through its corporate social responsibility activities, Aptech is conscious of the kind of impact it has on all aspects of society, including economic, social, and environmental.

Aptech’s team provided their public service announcement at a work shop with Finding XY and UGEFA in Kampala, Uganda. Attendees learned the most important ways to protect the environment including; re-use of plastic containers, reduction or recycling of waste, volunteering for local cleanups, educating others with information about the value of our natural resources, conserving water, shopping wisely, using long-lasting light bulbs, planting trees, avoidance of slash and burn farming methods, biking more, carpooling more, and finally using sustainable renewable energy.

Renewable energy is energy derived from natural resources that replenish over a period of time without depleting the Earth’s resources. These resources also have the benefit of being abundant, available in some capacity nearly everywhere, and they cause little, if any, environmental damage. Energy from the sun, wind, and thermal energy stored in the Earth’s crust are examples of renewable energy.

Aptech Africa is contributing to the UN SDG 13 of Climate Action by increasing public awareness around environmental protection and by providing solar solutions that reduce carbon emissions.
