“The water is in good condition and the system is safely installed. We are grateful to Nelson and his colleague for their expertise and skill.” This is what one of our most recent clients had to say about the installation of a solar water heater and solar water pump in the parish.
The two systems: one for cold water supply (solar water pumping) and hot water supply (solar water heating) were installed in Nakapiripiti District and will benefit approximately 2000 people from the Parish, surrounding school and the community at large, reducing time wasted as a result of long walks to nearby rivers to fetch water. The water pumping system will also be beneficial in allowing the community access to clean water.
For solar water pumping, the system size was 1.4Kw. The system was composed of a pump (SQ Flex1.2-3), four 375W panels, a pump controller (CU 200). For solar water heating, the system consisted of a hot water storage tank of 300L and a collector panel with copper tubes.
We faced several difficulties when installing the project owing to the fact that Nakapiripiti is a war prone region. However, amidst of the challenges, we were able to install the system a week earlier than expected and apart from the pump and heater, we offered various civil works services such as site clearance and construction of a chain link wall.
