Innovators, educators, researchers and one of our Electrical Engineers recently gathered for the DREEM Hub Conference in Dar es Salaam. This vibrant event, held from July 8th to July 10th, 2024, brought together diverse minds from around the globe to discuss and envision the future of sustainable development, education, and technological advancements in Africa.
The main theme for this year was addressing challenges faced by Agri- solar business and discussing financing options for such projects in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. The projects are funded by Mott Foundation through Heifer and UECCC for Uganda case. Renowned economist delivered an inspiring keynote on economic empowerment through technological innovation. An environmental activist emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in her impassioned address and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, highlighted global initiatives and partnerships driving sustainable development goals (SDGs) across Africa.
Interactive workshops and collaborative sessions were integral to the conference experience. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, brainstorming sessions, and panel discussions aimed at fostering collaborations and sharing best practices. Workshops on blockchain technology for social impact, community-led conservation efforts, and inclusive entrepreneurship left attendees inspired and empowered.
